4月22日是世界地球日，今年的地球日主题是“节约集约利用资源，倡导绿色简约生活”。保护地球，就是保护我们自己，让我们加入新英才小朋友的环保行动吧！和他们一同还原地球的美丽！

There once was a big “golden” planet, called Earth, which was home to so many beautiful animals, plants, and people.  It was a planet that could wake up every morning shining its bright sun.  The animals, plants and people were happy to enjoy this great sunshine by playing outside in the warm, fresh air.

       曾经，有一个叫地球的”黄金”星球，那里，生长了许多美丽的动物、植物还有人类。每天早上醒来，太阳公公带着耀眼的光芒来到了这里，她们开心地享受着阳光，在户外呼吸着新鲜空气、愉快地玩耍。

One day this golden planet’s sunshine began to fade little by little as people continued throwing their garbage all over its beautiful fields and in its many seas causing harm to the animals and plants. Earth’s mother began to feel a little sad.  The constant fresh air became dirtier and dirtier, Earth began to feel ill and Earth’s mother became saddened deeply.  Children and adults were unhappy because they couldn’t enjoy playing outside anymore, and the animals and plants couldn’t live in harmony.

       有一天，人类开始把垃圾扔向星球上美丽的田野，许许多多的动植物受到了伤害，新鲜的空气变得越来越脏，地球母亲开始难过起来，光芒也开始慢慢消退了。人类也变得难过起来,他们再也不喜欢在外面玩了,再也无法和动物和植物快乐相处了！

However, while other people were throwing garbage onto the land into the seas, Grade 1 students from BJNTA were carefully listening to a story about this happy “golden” planet.  They couldn’t believe that our Earth was once so happy, bright, and clean.  They knew why Earth was so dirty; pollution, garbage, too many cars. They shared how we could make Earth happy again by recycling, saving water, turning off lights, riding bicycles,  and walking .  They were excited and ready to spread the good news about cleaning up our Earth. And, on that day Earth’s mother began to smile at their excitement, hard work, and creativity to make a cleaner, happier Earth. 

        当无知的人们继续向大地、海洋里随意丢弃垃圾的时候,新英才一年级的小朋友们正在科学课堂里聆听关于这个快乐的“黄金”星球的故事。他们无法相信,地球曾经是那么洁净，那么明亮，那么快乐。他们惊讶地发现是人类的污染把地球变得如此污秽不堪。他们思考着怎样才能让地球妈妈恢复往日的快乐：废物循环、节约用水、随手关灯、绿色出行……他们兴奋地想把净化地球的好方法传播出去。并且去还原一个更清洁,更快乐的地球。

For Earth Day, our students learn a lot about keeping our environment clean through pictures, through asking questions, and through making a project.  After expressing their wish for a clean Earth, the students worked together in teams to color, cut, and assemble a happy Earth cutout as a reminder of what practices we can undergo to obtain a cleaner Earth. 

       地球日这天，一年级的学生们通过观察图片,提问问题,小组探索主题，研究了很多关于保持环境清洁的方法，学生们组合成一个个团队，经过涂色、切割、组装还原了一个快乐的、干净的地球！
